A warning:

Our words were spelled out in a sort of shorthand, sometimes only including consonants, and not even all of those. To make matters worse, modern human scholars trying to reconstruct the language sometimes make mistakes, and yet I must use them to supplement my own scanty English.

Note on transliterations:

I use the number 3 for the rough gravelly sound close to an AHHH that doesn't exist in English. The capital H is also a special consonant: it's slightly harsher than the sound at the end of the Scottish "loch", sounding as if the word rammed into a brick wall.
